S.M.A.R.T. accepts payment through Medicaid using an approval service called First Transit.

For each non-emergency medical appointment you have, an approval number from First Transit must be obtained before we can transport you.  Call our dispatch office to reserve your trip.  One of our dispatchers will be happy to assist you with your reservation.  After you have reserved your trip, you will need to contact First Transit to make arrangement for payment.  You may reach First Transit by callling toll-free at 1-877-725-0569.  Once First Transit has given you an approval number, Please call S.M.A.R.T. with that approval number to complete your reservation.  A dispatcher will call you the business day before your appointment to confirm your pick-up time.
