Shawnee MTD can assist you with non-emergency medical transportation including hospital discharges, ER discharges or medical appointments.

Scheduling Is Easy

If you are using First Transit:


FIRST:

Call us at 1-866-577-6278 to check availability.


SECOND:

Call First Transit at 1-877-725-0569. Requests must be made 5 to 7 business days prior to the trip.


THIRD:

Give First Transit the patient's information, including their medical card recipient number. Also give the date and time of the medical appointment and the name, address and phone number of the patient's medical provider.


FOURTH:

Tell the First Transit Operator that the patient will be riding with us; the Operator will give you an Approval Number.


FIFTH:

Call us back with the Approval Number and schedule the patient's transportation at 1-866-577-6278.




If you are using LogistiCare, MTM or Secure transportation:


FIRST:

Call your Insurance provider: See contact information for insurance providers listed on this page. Requests must be made at least 2 business days prior to the trip.


SECOND:

Give your provider the patient's information, including their medical card recipient number. Also give the date and time of the medical appointment and the name, address and phone number of the patient's medical provider.


THIRD:

Tell them you request Shawnee Mass Transit as your transportation company.


FOURTH:

Your provider will fax the necessary information to us. After we receive that information your ride will be scheduled accordingly and you will be notified of the pickup time.

CALL DISPATCH

To schedule a ride, simply contact dispatch at 866-577-6278. A dispatcher is standing by to talk with you and discuss your transportation needs. Requests for transportation should be made 24-48 hours in advance.

TELL US WHERE YOU NEED TO GO.

Let the dispatcher know who, when, where you are and where you’d like to go. Be prepared to let them know how many people will be riding and if you need a return trip.

WAIT PATIENTLY

You’ve done all you need to do! Relax, wait patiently and let us take care of the scheduling. Be ready 15 minutes prior to your scheduled pickup time. Please remember that 2 hour advance notice is required for residential pickup and same day service is not guaranteed.
